Connecting Xero
- Go to Integrations in the sidebar.
- Select the Accounting Software tab.
- Find the Xero card and click Add.
- Click Authenticate with Xero.
- You will be redirected to Xero's OAuth login page. Select your Xero organisation and authorise Monitr.
- After successful authentication, you will be redirected back to Monitr. If you are setting up Monitr for the first time, click Go to onboarding to continue the setup process. If you are adding new entities to an existing integration, click Add new entities.
Managing the integration
Once connected, the integration card shows the connected organisation. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the integration card title area.
Click the Settings (gear) icon to remove the connection or delete the entire integration from Monitr.
Tracking categories
Xero's Tracking Categories (e.g., Region, Department) import as analytical axes. You can use these for dimensional reporting in the same way as cost centres in other accounting platforms.
Multi-organisation support
If you have multiple Xero organisations, connect each as a separate integration. During setup, select which organisation the integration belongs to.
Notes
-
Initial imports for large historical datasets may take more time than other integrations. Subsequent incremental imports are fast.
-
The connecting user needs Adviser or Standard + Bank level access in Xero.
