Onboarding
Getting started with Monitr takes you through a structured setup process. By the end, you'll have a connected accounting integration, a working reporting structure, and your first live financial reports.
The onboarding journey
Onboarding in Monitr happens in two stages:
Stage 1 — Organisation setup
Before you can see any financial data, you need to:
- Create your account and sign up
- Set up your organisation — connect your bookkeeping software and select which entities to import
Stage 2 — Entity setup
Once an entity is selected, Monitr guides you through four steps:

| Dates | Configure your financial calendar — Year-to-Date start, Last Date Actuals, Year-to-Go end |
| Reporting | Choose a reporting template and configure your Report Anchors (the key metrics on your dashboard) |
| Link accounts | Map your GL accounts to reporting lines using the drag-and-drop interface |
| Configure dashboard | Personalise your dashboard KPI cards |
After completing these steps, you land on the Monitr dashboard with live actuals data.
What you'll need
- Your bookkeeping software login credentials (or admin access to create an OAuth connection)
- Approximately 20–30 minutes for a clean setup
Starting with multiple entities?
Monitr onboards one entity at a time. Complete the setup for your primary entity first, then add additional entities from Entities in the sidebar. Each entity goes through the same four-step setup.
