Reports

The Reports page is Monitr's primary financial statement viewer. It displays your reporting structure with actual data, forecast comparisons, and period-on-period analysis in a single, configurable grid.

Report types

Monitr supports four report types, selectable via tabs at the top of the page:

ReportWhat it shows
P&LProfit & Loss — revenue, costs, margins, net profit
Balance SheetAssets, liabilities, and equity at a point in time
Cash FlowCash inflows and outflows by activity
RelationsIntercompany transactions between this entity and other entities in your organisation (visible only when your organisation has consolidation enabled, Premium)

Report views

Each report can be viewed in three modes:

Actuals

Shows the actual (imported) balances from your accounting software. This is the default view and shows what really happened.

Delta

Compares actuals against a budget or the prior period, showing the variance (absolute and/or %). Use this for month-end variance analysis and budget-vs-actual reviews.

The comparison target can be set to:

  • Baseline — the scenario marked as "active" in your Forecasts
  • Scenario — a specific scenario from your Forecasts
  • Previous year — the same period in the prior financial year

Forecast

Shows actuals up to the Last Date Actuals (LDA), and budget values for the remaining periods. This gives you a full-year view combining what has happened with what you're projecting.

Forecast view requires a budget

The Forecast view only shows data if you have a Forecast with at least one Scenario and budget entries. See Forecasting to get started.

Date controls

At the top of the page, three date selectors control what data is shown:

ControlWhat it does
YTD (Year-to-Date start)Beginning of the period shown
LDA (Last Date Actuals)Most recent actual data date; also the actuals/forecast split point
YTG (Year-to-Go end)End of the forecast period

You can also use presets (e.g. "Full year", "Last month", "Last quarter") for common date ranges.

Period grouping

Toggle between monthly, quarterly, and annual columns using the period selector. Quarterly and annual views aggregate the underlying monthly data.

Numeric display

Control how numbers are presented:

  • Units — full amounts (e.g. 1,234,567)
  • Thousands — divided by 1,000 (e.g. 1,235)
  • Millions — divided by 1,000,000 (e.g. 1.2)
  • % of Revenue — each line as a percentage of the Revenue Report Anchor value

Analytical Axes filter

When viewing reports, you can filter the data by Analytical Axes (cost centers, departments, or projects imported from your accounting software). This allows you to focus on specific segments of your business.

To apply a filter:

  1. Locate the Filter bar above the report grid.
  2. Click the dropdown for the analytical axis you want to filter by (e.g. Cost Center, Project). The dropdown opens with a search box at the top.
  3. Type to filter the list of values by code or description.
  4. Select one or more values. Use the Select All / Deselect All checkbox to manage selections within the filtered list.
  5. To exclude an entire axis from the report, select Transactions without [Axis Name] at the bottom of the dropdown.
Too many axes selected

If you select more than 20 analytical axis values across all axes, a warning icon appears next to the filter bar. Applying very broad axis filters may slow down the report.

Drill-down

Click any cell in the report grid to open the transaction drill-down panel. This shows the individual GL transactions that make up that cell's value — account code, description, date, amount.

From the drill-down panel, you can also click the Go to report icon (link) in the top right to jump to the detailed report view for that specific dimension.

This is the fastest way to investigate unexpected numbers or verify data quality.

Scenario selection

When you have multiple Scenarios in your Forecasts, a dropdown lets you select which scenario's budget data appears in Forecast and Delta views.

Exporting reports

To export the current report view:

  1. Hover over the top right corner of the report to reveal the icon toolbar.
  2. Click the Create PDF Export (PDF) icon.
  • PDF — exports the current view as a formatted PDF.
  • PDF Booklet — a curated multi-page document including dashboards and selected reports. See Booklet Export.

Organisation-level reports

Premium organisations with consolidation enabled have an Organisation Reports page that shows consolidated reports across all entities. The structure, views, and controls are identical to entity-level reports.
