Reports
The Reports page shows your financial statements with actual data, forecast comparisons, and period-on-period variance — all in one configurable grid. Use it for month-end reviews, board presentations, and drilling into unexpected numbers.
Report types
Four report types are available as tabs at the top of the page:
| Report | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Profit & Loss | Revenue, costs, margins, and net profit |
| Balance Sheet | Assets, liabilities, and equity at a point in time |
| Cash Flow | Cash inflows and outflows by activity |
| Relations | How a selected reporting line (e.g. Revenue, Cash & Bank) breaks down by counterparty (customer or supplier) over time. Available in entity view only. |
Report views
Each report (except Relations) can be viewed in three modes:
Actuals
Shows the actual (imported) balances from your accounting software. This is the default view and shows what really happened.
Forecast
Shows actuals up to the Last Date Actuals (LDA), and budget values for the remaining periods. This gives you a full-year view combining what has happened with what you're projecting.
The Forecast view only shows data if you have a Forecast with at least one Scenario and budget entries. See Forecasting to get started.
Delta
Compares actuals against a budget or the prior period, showing the variance (absolute and/or %). Use this for budget-vs-actual reviews and period-on-period analysis.
The comparison target can be set to:
- Baseline — the scenario marked as "active" in your Forecasts
- Scenario — a specific scenario from your Forecasts
- Previous year — the same period in the prior financial year
Relations Report
The Relations tab shows how a selected reporting line breaks down by counterparty over time. Instead of account-level rows, each row is a customer or supplier. Transactions with no counterparty linked are grouped into Other (no relation). A Total of all Relations summary row is always shown at the top.
Use it to answer questions like: "Which customers are driving our revenue growth?" or "Which suppliers account for most of our COGS?"
Key controls:
- Reporting line selector — choose which line (e.g. Revenue, Cash & Bank) to break down. Defaults to Revenue, then Cash & Bank.
- Date slider — same YTD/LDA/YTG controls as other reports.
- Period grouping — monthly, quarterly, or annual columns.
- Analytical Axes filter — narrow to a specific cost center or dimension.
- Chart panel — a collapsible bar/line chart of the selected or total row over time.
Clicking any cell opens the transaction drill-down filtered to that relation and period. Rows can be expanded to show account-level sub-rows (if you have transaction read permission).
The Relations tab is only visible in entity view. It is not shown in consolidation (organisation) view.
Date slider
Three date controls at the top of the page determine what data is shown:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| YTD (Year-to-Date start) | Beginning of the period shown |
| LDA (Last Date Actuals) | Most recent actual data date; also the actuals/forecast split point |
| YTG (Year-to-Go end) | End of the forecast period |
You can also use presets (e.g. "Full year", "Last month", "Last quarter") for common date ranges.
Period grouping
The period selector controls how columns are grouped. The available options depend on the context:
Time-based grouping (available in all views):
- Month — one column per month (default)
- Quarter — months aggregated into quarters
- Year — months aggregated into calendar years
- Fiscal Year — months aggregated by fiscal year, starting from your entity's YTD start date. Only available in entity view, not consolidation.
Interval (Delta view only):
- Interval — collapses the time axis into three aggregate buckets: YTD (Year-to-Date), YTG (Year-to-Go), and TOTAL. Each shows actual/forecast, budget, delta, and delta% side by side. Useful when you want a full-year variance summary at a glance rather than month-by-month columns.
Dimension-based grouping (entity view only, when analytical axes are configured):
- By analytical axis — instead of time columns, each column represents a value of the selected axis (e.g. one column per cost center). Useful for side-by-side comparisons across departments or projects.
By entity (consolidation view only):
- Shows one column per entity in your organisation, aggregated over the full selected period. Used for comparing entity contributions in a consolidated report.
Numeric display
Control how numbers are presented:
- Units — full amounts (e.g. 1,234,567)
- Thousands — divided by 1,000 (e.g. 1,235)
- Millions — divided by 1,000,000 (e.g. 1.2)
- % of Revenue — each line expressed as a percentage of the Revenue Report Anchor value. Only available on the P&L report. If no Revenue custom metric with a reporting line is configured for the entity, the option appears greyed out.
Analytical Axes filter
Filter the report by Analytical Axes (cost centers, departments, or projects imported from your accounting software) to focus on a specific segment.
- Click the Filter bar above the report grid.
- Select the analytical axis you want to filter by (e.g. Cost Center, Project).
- Type to search, then select one or more values. Use Select all / Deselect all to manage broad selections.
- To exclude an entire axis, select Transactions without [Axis Name] at the bottom of the dropdown.
Selecting more than 20 analytical axis values across all axes shows a warning icon. Very broad filters may slow down the report.
Drill-down
Click any cell in the report grid to open the transaction drill-down panel, showing the individual GL transactions that make up that value — account code, description, date, and amount.
From the drill-down panel you can open full Transaction Booking Details — including the booking header, line items, and any attachments from your accounting software. See Transaction Booking Details for supported integrations and how to navigate it.
Exporting reports
- Hover over the report grid.
- Click the Export to Excel button in the top right corner.
Organisation-level reports
Premium organisations with consolidation enabled have an Organisation Reports page showing consolidated reports across all entities. The structure, views, and controls are identical to entity-level reports.
