Dashboards
The Dashboard is your financial cockpit — a collection of KPI cards and charts that give you an instant read on company performance. Monitr offers several dashboard types, each focused on a different area of the business.
Navigating dashboards
From the sidebar, click Dashboard. A tab bar at the top lets you switch between: Key Metrics, Revenue, Inventory, Personnel Costs, Outstanding Items, Fixed Assets, Loans, and Organisation.
Key Metrics dashboard
The Key Metrics dashboard is the main financial overview. It shows a row of KPI cards and four chart panels.
KPI cards
Each KPI card displays a reporting line value (e.g. Revenue, EBITDA, Gross Margin). Cards show:
- Current period value
- Comparison to budget or prior period (if a forecast is active)
- Trend sparkline
The first card is always Cash & Bank — it shows your current cash balance based on your Cash & Bank report anchor. You can hide it by hovering over the card to reveal the icon toolbar in the top right corner, then clicking the Hide (eye with slash) icon. To bring it back, click the Show (savings) icon that appears in its place.
The remaining cards each represent a reporting line you have selected. To manage them:
- Add a card — click the + button at the end of the card row. A search panel opens where you can find and select any reporting line from your reporting structure.
- Remove a card — hover over a card to reveal the icon toolbar in the top right corner, then click the Delete (trash can) icon.
- Reorder cards — drag a card left or right to change its position.
Chart panels
The dashboard shows four chart panels beneath the KPI cards. Three of them are configurable; one is fixed.
Hovering over any panel reveals a small icon toolbar in its top right corner. The toolbar contains an Edit (pencil) icon, a Go to report (table link) icon, and a fullscreen icon. The Edit icon is how you configure the panel's content.
KPI trend
Plots one or more reporting lines over time as a line chart. To configure it:
- Hover over the panel to reveal the icon toolbar in the top right corner.
- Click the Edit (pencil) icon.
- A search panel opens listing all reporting lines in your reporting structure.
- Click a line to add it to the chart. Click it again to remove it.
Cash Flow
Shows your cash runway based on the current period's cash flow. This panel is fixed and cannot be configured.
Comparison to Revenue
Plots one or more reporting lines expressed as a percentage of revenue, giving you margin-style views (e.g. Gross Margin %, EBITDA %). To configure it:
- Hover over the panel to reveal the icon toolbar in the top right corner.
- Click the Edit (pencil) icon.
- Select the reporting lines you want to compare as a percentage of revenue.
This panel requires a Revenue report anchor to be set up. If it isn't configured yet, the panel shows a prompt to set it up.
Waterfall (Budget vs. Actual)
Breaks down the difference between your budgeted and actual net result line by line — showing which lines overperformed and which drove the variance. The chart title updates automatically depending on your comparison mode (budget vs. actual, budget vs. forecast, or prior year vs. actual).
To configure which lines appear, hover over the panel to reveal the icon toolbar in the top right corner, then click the Edit (pencil) icon. This panel requires a Net Result report anchor to be set up.
Comparison mode
A toggle at the top right switches between Baseline (compare actuals against your active forecast scenario) and Year-over-Year (compare against the same period last year).
Revenue dashboard
The Revenue dashboard has three sub-tabs:
Recurring Revenue
This tab provides a detailed overview of your recurring revenue, including:
- Total recurring revenue vs. budget: Compares your actual recurring revenue against your set budget.
- Monthly recurring revenue (MRR) trends: Visualizes the trend of your MRR over time.
- Net MRR growth: Shows the breakdown of MRR changes (new, upsell, downgrade, churn).
- Revenue per subscription or product: Displays revenue segmented by individual subscriptions or products, if configured in the Recurring Revenue budget module.
This dashboard is powered by the Recurring Revenue budget module.
Project Revenue
This tab provides insights into your project-based revenue. It includes:
- Revenue vs. Budget: Compares your project revenue against the selected Project Revenue budget.
- Revenue Capacity: Shows the potential revenue based on available employee capacity and their billable rates.
- Revenue Planning: Displays planned revenue from assigned projects and tasks.
- Billability: Visualizes the percentage of workdays employees are planned for billable work.
To view data on this dashboard, you must have a Project Revenue budget created. If no budget is selected, the dashboard will prompt you to select one from the dropdown menu in the top right corner. If no Project Revenue budgets exist, an empty state will guide you to create one.
This dashboard is powered by the Project Revenue budget module.
PxQ & COGS
This tab provides insights into your gross margin analysis, combining Price x Quantity (PxQ) and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) data. It includes:
- Price per unit (P) vs. Quantity (Q) breakdown: Visualizes the components of your revenue.
- Cost of Goods Sold (COGS): Displays the costs directly attributable to the production of goods sold by your company.
- Margin contribution by product or category: Shows how different products or categories contribute to your overall gross margin.
This dashboard is powered by the PxQ budget module and the COGS budget module.
Inventory dashboard
Shows stock levels and inventory valuation trends. This dashboard is powered by the Inventory budget module.
To view data on this dashboard, you must have an Inventory budget created. If no budget is selected, the dashboard will prompt you to select one from the dropdown menu in the top right corner. If no Inventory budgets exist, an empty state will guide you to create one.
At the top right of the dashboard, you can select a specific Product from a dropdown menu to filter the displayed data. You can also toggle between viewing data in currency (e.g., euros) or quantity (number of units) by clicking the Currency (AllCurrency) icon or Quantity (NumberSymbol) icon in the top right corner of the dashboard.
Inventory Balance and Safety Stock
This section displays a stacked area graph showing your inventory balance over time, along with a threshold graph for safety stock levels. You can switch between these two views.
Inventory Rotation
This section shows a grouped bar graph illustrating the rotation of your inventory.
Inventory Details Table
This table provides a detailed breakdown of your inventory, including product names, quantities, values, and other relevant metrics.
Personnel Costs dashboard
The Personnel Costs dashboard provides a detailed overview of your payroll costs and headcount. To view data on this dashboard, you must have a Personnel Costs budget created. If no budget is selected, the dashboard will prompt you to select one from the dropdown menu in the top right corner. If no Personnel Costs budgets exist, an empty state will guide you to create one.
This dashboard includes the following panels:
- Actuals v. Budget: Compares your actual personnel costs against your selected budget.
- Cash flow per type: Breaks down personnel costs by type, such as Wage, Consulting fee, Social security, 13th month, Holiday pay, and Perks.
- Headcount per department: Shows the number of employees per department.
- Average cost per department: Displays the average personnel cost for each department.
- Employees Table: A detailed table listing employees, their department, and type (Payroll or Freelance).
This dashboard is powered by the Personnel Costs budget module.
Outstanding Items dashboard

| Current Receivables | Outstanding customer invoices by age |
| Current Payables | Outstanding supplier invoices by age |
| Forecasted Receivables | Expected cash inflows based on outstanding receivables |
| Forecasted Payables | Expected cash outflows based on outstanding payables |
Outstanding Items data is imported from your accounting software at the time of each import. Historic snapshots (rolling 14-month view) are also available for trend analysis.
Fixed Assets dashboard
Shows your fixed asset register:
- Net book value by asset category
- Depreciation schedule
- Asset additions and disposals
Data comes from the Fixed Assets integration or the Fixed Assets budget module.
Loans dashboard
Displays your loan portfolio:
- Outstanding balance per loan
- Monthly repayment schedule
- Interest vs. principal split
Data is driven by the Loans budget module.
Organisation dashboard
Premium organisations with consolidation enabled have an Organisation Dashboard showing consolidated KPIs across all entities. This dashboard functions identically to the Key Metrics dashboard, but aggregates data from all entities within the selected consolidation group. You can switch between Baseline and Year-over-Year comparison modes, and configure KPI cards and chart panels in the same way as for a single entity.
To access the Organisation Dashboard:
- Ensure your organisation has a Premium subscription and consolidation is enabled.
- From the sidebar, click Dashboard.
- In the tab bar at the top, select Key Metrics.
- In the top right corner of the dashboard, use the Consolidation Group dropdown to select the group of entities you wish to view. The dashboard will then display consolidated data for the selected group.
